The world got ugly

Two lampposts.

Same job.

Same function.

One was built with care and precision.

For some reason, as people have progressed,
"good enough" quietly became the way we build everything.

For some reason, as people have progressed,

The same thing happened   
to education.

Education became “good enough.”

It stopped being about you and me and started being about “the system”.

Think about how it works.

4 years of your life and thousands of dollars spent. All for a piece of paper that still doesn't guarantee you'll land a job you like.

And then if you want to really “master” your skills, you go even further in debt and spend another 2-8 years in school.

The worst part is, the majority of people can’t afford that route.

Which means they're forced to just get a job that pays the bills.

But with the boom of the internet, a new opportunity for education developed.

Education became “good enough.”

It stopped being about you and me and started being about “the system”.

Think about how it works.

And then if you want to really “master” your skills, you go even further in debt and spend another 2-8 years in school.

The worst part is, the majority of people can’t afford that route.

Which means they’re forced to just get a job that pays the bills.

But with the boom of the internet, a new opportunity for education developed.

Online Education

People started to realize traditional education wasn’t the only option.  
Unfortunately, the online education that exists mostly consists of 20-30 year old self-proclaimed “experts” who show off their:

Lamborghini
Their Rolex
Their expensive trips to the Maldives etc.

And they do all this to get your attention.

Then once they have your attention, they promise easy ways to live just like them.

BUT

Only if you follow their “secret method”

The issue with that is…

You realize that there is no secret method.
There is no easy way to make that kind of money sustainably.

In fact, in most cases, making money online sustainably is hard.

Not because of that fact it’s online, but because there are so many different ways to ‘make money online’ and anyone can share how to make money regardless of their experience.

As a result, most people jump from one ‘make money method’ to another because nothing works long term.

And each time you do that, you go back to 0.

And are left feeling like sh*t.

And they do all this to get your attention.

Well...Wtf are you supposed to do then?

To try to figure out how to unf*ck education, we decided to go back to the start of it all:

Ancient Greece.

Around 2,500 years ago, the Greeks essentially invented school.

The word “school” itself is Greek - scholē (σχολή)

And in a few hundred years, the Greeks gave all of these to the world:

Philosophy. Democracy. Geometry. Medicine. The Olympics. Theater.
Socrates. Plato. Aristotle. Pythagoras. Hippocrates. Archimedes. Alexander the Great.

In other words, they invented a lot of cool shit and developed people who changed the world.    

That's not a coincidence.

So we asked: what were they doing differently?

Turns out, their entire education system was built on one assumption:

Socrates. Plato. Aristotle. Pythagoras. Hippocrates. Archimedes. Alexander the Great.

In other words, they invented a lot of cool shit and developed people who changed the world.

Every person has a unique form of excellence inside them. And the teacher's job is to find it and pull it out.

They were trying to find the one thing each person was built for.
They even had a word for it.

Fulfilling your unique purpose. Being the best version of the thing you were specifically designed for.

And you don’t find your purpose by just sitting in a classroom.

You found it by doing the thing.

Aristotle said it himself:
"The things we have to learn before we can do them, we learn by doing them."

Said in plain English:
“The best way to learn is through doing.”

You became a builder by building.
A musician by playing.

You didn’t know what you were built for until you actually did it.

That is what education was supposed to be.
That’s what was lost.

So, that’s what we’re rebuilding.

And you don’t find your purpose by just sitting in a classroom.

You found it by doing the thing.

Aristotle said it himself:

We believe every single person on this planet has something valuable inside them.

Specific traits that make them unique.
And with these traits, they can find work that doesn’t feel like work.

We call it the Zone of Genius.

The overlap between what you’re naturally good at, what you enjoy doing, and what the world actually needs.

Some people are creative and visual.

Some people are good with words.

Some people are good with numbers.

No matter what it is that you’re good at or enjoy doing.

You have a Zone of Genius too.

The problem is, finding Zone of Genius is not easy.

Zone of Genius is not just what you’re good at and enjoy doing.

It requires you to connect those two things to what the world actually needs.

And getting all 3 of these to align is where most people struggle.

But in order for our mission to be true and for you to find your Zone of Genius, we need to go deeper and figure out what the world actually needs.

The problem is, finding Zone of Genius is not easy.

Zone of Genius is not just what you’re good at and enjoy doing.

“What does the world
  actually need?”

We’re no longer in Ancient Greece.

We’re in the age of AI.

And in this new age, thinking about the future can be daunting.
  
Especially if you’re trying to answer a question like:
“How do the things I’m naturally good at & love to do actually apply to what the world needs?”   

Or said simpler:  
“How can I make money without hating my work and my life?”   

This is where ‘Ecom’ comes in.
“Ecom” = eCommerce

Definition: Ecommerce (noun)

Buying and selling of goods and services using the internet.

Ecommerce is one of the biggest industries in the world, and it’s not going anywhere.

People were buying and selling things in ancient Greece.
And they are still buying and selling things today.

Regardless of what happens in the world, people will always buy & sell.  

But  

Because the buying & selling of things online specifically (aka ecommerce) is so new, it requires people with a unique set of skills.  

And right now there’s a massive shortage of those people.

How do we know this?

After processing over 10,000 job applications, conducting 1,000’s of interview calls, and hiring 100s of people for 3+ years at our own ecommerce marketing company.

We realized more than 95% of the people we saw, spoke to, and hired, did NOT have that unique set of skills.

And it definitely wasn’t because they didn’t have a fancy degree.
No one cares about that in ecom.

It was because there was nowhere for these people to actually learn the skills we needed.

So, we had no other choice.

If we wanted to grow our ecommerce marketing company.
We had to start training people ourselves.
So that’s exactly what we did.

We called it EcomTalent.

A community where people can learn a unique set of skills around how to make ads for ecommerce brands.

And just like the ancient Greeks, the students in EcomTalent learn through doing.

But because students in EcomTalent are practicing on REAL brands with REAL money behind them.

The students get paid a % of the money they generate from the ads that they make.

Explained simply:

You (the student) make an ad for a brand → the brand puts their own money behind your ad → If the ad doesn’t work, no one gets paid → If the ad DOES work, the brand pays you a % of profits.

This “performance model” allows students to EARN while they LEARN.

Then something happened that we didn’t expect…

The Unexpected

One of the students who lives in rural Morocco, learned the skillset of how to make ads.

He applied his skillset to create ads for an ecommerce brand inside EcomTalent.

Then, that ecommerce brand took his ads and spent their own money on them.

As a result of how much they were able to spend :

Omar, the student, got paid $18,140.60 in a single month for the ads he made
